If you do not wish information to be stored as a cookie, you can disable cookies in your web browser. For more information, see our Cookies Policy on our website.

We may use Google Analytics and Meta Pixels to collect and process data, including when you use third party websites or apps. To find out more see How Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites or apps and how Meta uses pixels.

  • to consider an application of employment from you.

4.2Secondary purposes

We may also use your personal information for:

  • secondary purposes closely related to the primary purpose, in circumstances where you would reasonably expect such use;
  • such purposes where we reasonably believe that use of your personal information is necessary to lessen or prevent a serious threat to the life, health or safety of any individual, or to public health or safety, and it is unreasonable or impracticable to obtain your consent;
  • any other purpose for which we receive consent from you; or
  • any other purpose which is permitted or required under applicable privacy laws.

5How we disclose your personal information

We respect your privacy, and we will take reasonable steps to keep your personal information confidential and protected. We may disclose your personal information to:

  • architects, builders, designers, engineers, certifiers, trades and other consultants engaged, or being considered, for your project;
  • co-owners, family members, agents or other people you have authorised us to deal with;

  • councils and other government authorities, where needed for your project;
  • our professional advisors such as lawyers, accountants and auditors;
  • our related entities; or
  • any third parties you have consented personal information to be disclosed to.

We may also disclose personal information to third party contractors as required for us to provide our services to you, such as cloud-service providers, IT professionals, payment and banking providers, marketing agencies and debt collection agencies.

We take care to work with such third parties who we believe maintain an acceptable standard of data security and require them not to use your personal information for any purpose except for those activities we have asked them to perform on our behalf.

We will not otherwise disclose your personal information unless:

  • you have consented to us disclosing your personal information for particular circumstances;
  • as needed in an emergency or in investigation suspected criminal activity;
  • we are required to disclose under a subpoena, court order or other mandatory reporting requirements;

  • it is reasonably necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of a legal claim; or
  • it is otherwise authorised or required by law.

6Storage and overseas disclosure

We store personal information using cloud-based service providers (such as email, document storage, scheduling, video conferencing and customer relationship management tools). These providers may store or access personal information in countries outside Australia, including the United States. Some providers may also store or access personal information in other countries where they or their related companies operate, for example to provide technical support.

Because many of our clients live overseas, we will also send personal information to you, and to people you have authorised us to deal with, in the country where you or they are located.

We also may use Google Analytics to track web traffic information, which is operated by Google and stores information across multiple countries.

When you communicate with us through a social media service (such as Facebook or X), the social media provider and its partners may collect and hold your personal information overseas.

Where we disclose personal information to recipients outside Australia, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that they deal with it in a manner consistent with how we deal with it. If you live outside Australia, the privacy laws of the country where you live may also give you rights in relation to your personal information. Please contact us if you would like to exercise those rights and we will respond in line with the laws that apply to us.

7Marketing

We may at times send you marketing communications which will be done in accordance with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) (Spam Act).

If we do, we may use email, SMS, social media, phone or mail to send you direct marketing communications.

Where consent is needed, we will ask you for your consent before sending you marketing communications, except where you:

  • have explicitly opted-in to receiving email marketing from us in the past; or
  • were given the option to opt-out of email marketing when you signed up to receive information from us (for example, when you downloaded our renovation guide) and you did not do so.

You can, at any time, opt out of receiving marketing materials from us by using the opt-out facility provided (e.g., an unsubscribe link on emails we send you) or by contacting us via the details provided at the end of this privacy policy. We will implement such a request as soon as possible, however, cannot guarantee that such a response will be immediate.

Where your client agreement with us allows it and you have not opted out, we may use photos, videos and before-and-after images of your project on our website, on social media and in our other marketing. We will not publish your name, your property's street address or a testimonial from you without your permission. You can opt out at any time by telling us in writing using the contact details below.

8Artificial intelligence

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools in our business, including generative AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude, and AI features built into video conferencing platforms such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams. These are examples only, and the AI tools we use may change from time to time. We may use AI tools, for example to transcribe or summarise meetings and site visits, draft reports and correspondence, or organise project information. Where these tools process personal information, we use them only for the purposes set out in this privacy policy, we choose providers that we believe maintain an acceptable standard of data security, and we take reasonable steps to ensure they do not use your personal information to train their own AI models. Some of these providers may store information outside Australia (see 'Storage and Overseas Disclosure' above). If we use an AI tool to record or transcribe a call or meeting with you, we will tell you before we start. We review AI-generated content before relying on it, and we do not use AI to make decisions that significantly affect you without human involvement.

9Security

We take reasonable steps to ensure your personal information is secure and protected from misuse or unauthorised access. Our information technology systems are password protected, and we use a range of administrative and technical measures to protect these systems. However, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information.

10How long we keep your information

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes set out in this privacy policy, including to meet our record-keeping, tax and legal obligations and to resolve disputes. When we no longer need it, we take reasonable steps to destroy it or de-identify it.

11Links

Our website may contain links to other websites. Those links are provided for convenience and may not remain current or be maintained. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those linked websites and we suggest you review the privacy policies of those websites before using them.

12Requesting access or correcting your personal information

We may need to verify your identity before providing you with your personal information. In some cases, we may be unable to provide you with access to all your personal information and where this occurs, we will explain why. If you think that any personal information we hold about you is inaccurate, please contact us using the contact details set out below and we will take reasonable steps to ensure that it is corrected.
